Hire
I've been working in the web development trade since I was 18 and fresh out of college with my HND in Computing. That was enough to get me a job working for Hargreaves Lansdown - a big financial services company, later on Mizu - building CodeIgniter CMS' - and Deep Blue Sky - writing even more PHP, and for the last year I've been working for a company I own half of: HappyNinjas Ltd.
I can write any code you like but prefer to stick to PHP or Ruby and have plenty of experience with the projects that I am actively involved in: CodeIgniter, FuelPHP and PyroCMS. If you use any of those projects I am the perfect man for the job as I have been using CodeIgniter since 2006 and I've been using FuelPHP and PyroCMS since before they had names. I've also built large API-driven platforms using Ruby on Rails.
Development
I build sites and apps using CodeIgniter, FuePHP and PyroCMS. Leveraging these tools I can knock out simple websites incredibly quickly, working with my business partner Scott Parry (anther HappyNinja) to create the designs.
Consultancy
Written an application using these tools? I've been asked to look at applications to ensure it's as secure, efficient and clean as possible. While looking at projects there about to go live I have noticed MySQL injection issues, potential Cross-Site Request Forgery holes and plenty of other issues that are easy to resolve but sometimes hard to notice. Having a quick run through by a fresh pair of eyes from somebody with years of experience can really help any application.
Training
Want to learn more about using FuelPHP, PyroCMS, CodeIgniter, PHP, building REST API's, integrating OAuth, working with Git, integrating any of my code like NinjAuth, etc then I can provide training over Skype or in person. I travel a lot so anywhere in the UK is easy and further afield can be arranged with notice.
Speaking
I've given talks in England, Amsterdam and the States and will give a 5-hour workshop at DIBI this year. I love to present and talk about my experiences and projects I am involved in. I gave a talk a few months ago at PHPNE in Newcastle which was an introduction to FuelPHP.
